The Pitt Panthers will have to go through the rest of the season without safety Paris Ford, who has opted out for the remainder of the year.
Ford is a possible first-round draft choice, and while he cites the pandemic for opting out, there is also little sense of risking injury for a team that has lost four straight games and fallen out of bowl contention. Pitt plays at Florida State on Saturday.
