Local veterans camped out at the Indiana Walmart entrance to highlight the plight of homeless vets. The group reached the end of their 24-hour vigil early Sunday morning.
The camp-out began at 8 AM Saturday morning. As of 5 o’clock Sunday morning, they had raised around $1500 for homeless vets and the veterans’ parsonage along Oakland Avenue.
In addition to monetary donations, the group accepted canned foods, toiletries, and hygiene products.
