With this being Memorial Day weekend, a new construction project scheduled to get underway this week starts on Tuesday rather than Monday.
The project is the Straight Run Bridge #2 replacement project on Porterfield Road in Banks Township, in northern Indiana County. It’s a full bridge replacement that will involve a 13.3 mile detour using a number of roads, including Porterfield Road, Canoe Ridge Road, Dombs Hill Road, Union Hill Road, Johnsonburg Road, Hemlock Lake Road, Glen Campbell Road, and back onto Porterfield Road.
The $971,000 project is expected to be finished in November.
