CROSS COUNTRY
At the WPIAL AA cross country championship yesterday, the Indiana boys finished third behind Greensburg Salem and Ringgold. Indiana’s Joel Beckwith was fourth, with a time of 16:24. Owen Putt was 18th, in 17:13. Clayton Weaver was 25th, in 17:22, and Tucker Davis ran the course in 17:41, good for 38th. Maddux Fisanich finished 48th, in 17:52. Jonathan Berzonsky also finished sub-20, in 55th place at 18:01. Jacob Gill was 69th, in 18:14.
The Indiana girls were led by freshman Jordan McKenna, who finished 15th, in 20:39. Yana Noronha was 48th, Melina Hilliard 50th, and Jadyn Ball 59th.
In a normal year, Indiana would have had more representatives at the PIAA championship next weekend, but this year, there will be fewer athletes at the event. Only the district championship team and the top seven individual finishers make the field, so Beckwith will be the only Indiana runner at the cross country championship next weekend.
SOCCER
In boys soccer, Indiana was knocked out of the WPIAL AAA tournament, 4-0 by Franklin Regional.
VOLLEYBALL
The West Shamokin Wolves beat Northern Cambria, 3-0 last night to win the Heritage Conference volleyball championship.
