Two trials are scheduled to begin in Indiana County Court today. Juries were chosen last week for the trials of 47-year-old Dakar Allen Jones of Monroeville, Allegheny County, and 37-year-old Adam Wayne Lowmaster of Mahaffey, Clearfield County.
Jones is accused of stealing a car from a female employee at the Eat ‘n Park Restaurant in White Township early on the morning of June 3rd, 2018. He was seen on surveillance video forcing the woman out of her car at about 5 AM, loading the bicycle he’d been riding into the car’s trunk, and driving the vehicle away. A short time later, Jones was seen on surveillance footage inside a gas station in Saltsburg.
The car was recovered two days after the robbery in Rankin, and Jones eluded capture until July of last year. He is charged with felony robbery of a motor vehicle, theft, and receiving stolen property, and with misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Lowmaster is charged for an incident dated in November of last year. He will be tried for felony aggravated assault with intent to cause bodily injury, along with misdemeanor indecent exposure, open lewdness, institutional vandalism of an education facility, resisting arrest, and with several summary violations.
The county court schedule lately has listed trials to begin on two consecutive days, so both the Jones and Lowmaster cases are listed to start today and tomorrow.
