In Indiana County Court today, Judge Mike Clark will conduct a non-jury trial for one of 26 defendants who were part of a drug sweep through Indiana County last fall.
29-year-old Shawn Jodon of Blairsville is charged with possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy to the same offense, and possession of a controlled substance for an incident last April.
When the drug sweep was announced in October, authorities characterized it as a roundup of mid-level drug dealers conducted by various law enforcement agencies, including state troopers from Indiana and Greensburg, the State Parole Office, and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. They used undercover troopers making drug buys, informants including people who provided anonymous tips to police, and other information to identify the suspects.
District Attorney Pat Dougherty said at the time that the investigation continues in an “ongoing battle” against the drug trade.
