In college football, Pitt was walloped by Notre Dame, 45-3 and Penn State was upset in overtime by Indiana, 36-35.
Pitt was never in the game against the third-ranked Fighting Irish. With quarterback Kenny Pickett missing a second straight game due to an ankle sprain, the Panthers gained only 162 total yards, with Joey Yellen tossing three interceptions, and Davis Beville and Nick Patti also faltering under center.
The Panthers are off next weekend and return to action at Florida State on November 7th.
Penn State opened its season with a crushing loss, as the Hoosiers’ Michael Penix scored a two-point conversion with 22 seconds left in regulation to force the overtime and Penix scoring on another two-point conversion to win the game.
