A portion of Route 110 is closed starting today as crews begin work on a week-long project to replace the Frances Bridge.
Route 110 near the Route 119 bypass will be closed until next Wednesday, October 28th, as crews from Mele & Mele & Sons work on bridge project. The replacement of Frances Bridge is the fourth and last in a series of bridge replacement projects on Route 110 and Old Route 119. The structure will be built in one day, with crews working 24 hours a day to meet the deadline. The project costs $3.7 million.
Also, PennDOT has opened the ramps at the Route 286/Route 119 project site. This will allow for motorists to take a detour around the project site. Drivers going north or south on 119 should take the Route 286 exit and continue on to Philadelphia Street, turn right onto North 4th Street and continue to Old Route 119.
Westbound traffic on Route 110 will have full access to Mabon Drive and limited access to Francis Road. Eastbound traffic on Route 110 will be able to access Lutz School Road, but will have limited access to Butler Auto Supply, Burkett’s Nursery and Blais Veterinarian.
