WHAT WE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED
The driver of a car that crashed and caught fire Tuesday night east of Indiana had to be flown to a hospital in Pittsburgh.
Indiana Fire Association Assistant Chief Ron Moreau said they were called out at 9:35 last night to Airport Road between Hood School Road and Route 286 in White Township and found the vehicle had crashed into a concrete post and rolled onto its side. The vehicle had also caught fire and one person was still inside the vehicle. Fire crews were able to suppress the fire and quickly free the occupant, who was later flown to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment.
Moreau also reported that a firefighter suffered a knee injury during their response and was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment. State police and Citizens Ambulance assisted at the scene.
