Paul L. Botsford, 95, of Indiana, was peacefully welcomed into Heaven on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018.
He was born July 17, 1922, at his home in Marion Center. He was the youngest son of the late Albert and Edna Sutor Botsford. Paul was married for 65 years to the late Beverly Traugh Botsford.
Paul graduated from Marion Center High School and the civil engineering program at Indiana State Teachers College, now Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church for over 65 years. Paul demonstrated his faith in thought, word and deed. As a World War II veteran, he actively supported veterans in need. He was also involved in numerous community organizations that provided food for the poor. Paul was vice president of RB Shannon and Associates, where he worked as a civil engineer and professional surveyor until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers, Indiana Fire Association from 1953 to 1976, the Historical and Genealogical Society of Indiana County and the Indiana Glass club. Paul was elected to several terms as county surveyor and served as Indiana Borough engineer. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his children: Joyce (Jay) McCaslin, Kathleen (Brian) Eckert, Tim (Sue) Botsford and Bob (Denise) Botsford; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bob (Barby) Traugh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Charles, Earl, Alex Botsford, and Ruth Widmeyer.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., with Pastor Kathy Mihoerck officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
