At Tuesday’s meeting, Indiana Borough Council held a hearing concerning the transfer of a liquor license from outside the borough to be used at a gas station.
Choice Gas Station is where the license will be transferred to, provided the transfer is approved by the board. The license will be put up for approval at the Agenda Prep meeting on November 3rd. Dave Berger, attorney for CAPL Retail, LLC, said that the Choice gas station will sell only beer, and it’s anticipated it will be for take-out only, even though there will be seats made available in the business.
In other business, Indiana Borough Police Chief Justin Schawl reported that police activity during what would have been IUP’s Homecoming Weekend was down dramatically, with 105 calls for service handled. Schawl said that is what the police would handle on a normal weekend. For Homecoming Weekend in 2019, police answered 200 calls for service.
