Indiana Area School District Superintendent Michael Vuckovich says that a case of Covid-19 was reported at Indiana Senior High School and that operations are continuing as normal.
In a letter sent to district parents that was also posted on the district’s website, Vuckovich said that the case was called into the district on Saturday. There was no risk of exposure to other students due to the social distancing requirements that are in place, and on the advice of the PA Department of Health, the district will continue their operations as usual.
Vuckovich added that two other students at Ben Franklin Elementary are now in quarantine as one of their family members tested positive for Covid-19 over the weekend. The Department of Health has been working with the school nurse, their teachers and district officials, and said they were treating them as probable positive cases.
Vuckovich also praised his staff for their proactive approach in monitoring for Covid-19 symptoms.
