MARION CENTER SCHOOL BOARD TO CONSIDER BUDGET, POSSIBLE TAX INCREASE

The Marion Center School Board will also look to approve a preliminary budget tonight.

Their preliminary budget comes to $30,532,041 will be up for approval tonight.  The board is considering two options for the real estate tax.  One is keeping the taxes the same at 12.1425 mils, or increasing the rate to 12.5370 mils.

The board is also expected to approve a list of 93 seniors that have tentatively met the requirements to graduate on June 1st, and to change the board’s meeting schedule to have a combined session on July 24th.

Their meeting starts at 7:00 PM at the W.A. McCreery Cafeteria Annex.

The long-awaited bike-pedestrian bridge across Route 22 is now open! What do you think?

I love it! It will help bring more economic activity to Indiana County!
I love it! It's much needed for the safety of folks to link the trails and access both sides of that busy highway.
I love it for both of the reasons listed above (as long as they maintain it.)
It's not going to be the economic boon they're saying it will be.
Not enough people will use it to have an effect on safety.
It will not be maintained and will fall into disuse rather quickly.
