PennDOT is thinking Spring, with the delayed start of a bridge replacement project scheduled to get underway later this month in Washington Township.
The Route 954 (Five Points Road) bridge spanning the South Branch of Plum Creek was supposed to begin last September, but was postponed just days before construction was to have started.
The bridge is the fourth of five scheduled to be replaced under the state’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. The fifth and final one, on Route 286 over Blacklegs Creek in Young Township, is scheduled to begin in June. The other Indiana County state-owned bridges completed in the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project are in Pine Township, Conemaugh Township, and Rayne Township.
The Route 954 bridge replacement will begin February 26th, weather permitting, and should be completed in early May. The detours will use Chambersville Road, Davis Road, and Five Points Road.
