Several sentencing hearings were held Friday in Indiana County Court, and while many of them focused on charges related to driving under the influence, there was one person who was sentenced on theft-related crimes.
36-year-old Jason Wagner of Indiana was sentenced in two such cases, one stemming from an incident on December 15th of 2021. He pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by deception, while a charge of receiving stolen property was not prosecuted. For that case he was ordered to serve one year on probation. In the second case, from October of 2022, he entered guilty pleas to theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and identity theft, while a second theft charge was not prosecuted. For that case, he was ordered to serve between 6 months and a day less than two years in Indiana County Jail and two years of probation for the theft and identity theft charges, with the sentences to run concurrently. No penalty was issued for the count of receiving stolen property.
Also sentenced yesterday was Mindy McIntyre, who was charged with theft of lost or mislaid property for an incident in February of this year. Charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property were not prosecuted. She was ordered to serve five years of probation, including one year of house arrest.
