The Pirates are adjusting their start times for the 2021 season.
According to The Athletic, the Pirates have confirmed night games from Opening Day through Memorial Day and Labor Day until the end of the season will start at 6:35 p.m. Night games between the two holidays will start at the traditional 7:05 p.m. Sunday home games will start at 1:05.
Team spokesman Brian Warecki says the move was to cater to families coming to the games.
With time running out on the International Signing season, the Pirates have signed another pitching prospect. John Dreker of Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Network reports the signing of 18-year-old Dominican Republic pitcher Wilber Dotel. He’s 6-3, 178 pounds, with a fastball that’s been clocked at 95 miles per hour. He also throws a curve and changeup and is projected as a future starter, according to Dreker. Dotel has been pitching at the Marmolejos Baseball Academy in the Dominican.
