Police report two crashes in Indiana County, as well as a case of retail theft and an incident involving harassment.
Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning on Deckers Point Road in Grant Township. State police say it happened shortly before 6 am, about a half-mile from Dixonville Road when an SUV operated by 18-year-old Challen Cornetto of Glen Campbell left the road on a right curve and struck a tree. Cornetto suffered minor injuries, and his passenger, a 12-year-old boy, suffered injuries of unkonwn severity. Both were taken to the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
An Indiana woman suffered minor injuries on Wednesday morning in a crash on route 286 in Young Township. Police say 24-year-old Kortney Mann’s SUV slid out of control on the slush-covered highway, sliding off the road on a downhill left curve and striking a five-foot tall brick pillar and wooden fence beside a driveway. Mann was taken to the Indiana Regional Medical Center with suspected minor injuries.
A Greensburg woman will be charged with retail theft for allegedly shoplifting more than $1800 worth of merchandise from the Burrell Township Walmart store Saturday night. State police say 27-year-old Christina Porterfield tried to leave the store with items totaling $1,807.95.
State police have filed a harassment charge against 50-year-old Rex Walker Jr. of Glen Campbell for a verbal altercation with a 37-year-old Indiana woman on Thursday afternoon at the White Township Walmart parking lot.
