An online fundraiser is underway to help the family of a Clearfield County man who was killed Monday afternoon in a car crash in Green Township.
30-year-old Christopher Ortman was killed in a three-vehicle crash just before 3:30 PM on Route 286 near Hickory Lane. A vehicle driven by 40-year-old Warren Miller of Hastings crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with Ortman’s car. The impact spun Ortman’s car, and the car behind him, driven by 35-year-old Leslie Angert of Commodore, also crashed into his car.
Ortman was flown to IRMC where he later went into cardiac arrest and died. Angert was taken to IRMC by Citizen’s Ambulance for treatment of suspected minor injuries, while Miller was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for emergency surgery. Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman, Jr. said the cause and manner of death are pending.
Tiffany Walstrom and two others have set up a Go Fund Me website to collect donations, which will help Otrman’s wife and their children. In 24 hours, they have raised $7,465 of their $10,000 goal.
