A woman charged with buying and delivering the drugs that resulted in the death of her husband last July is due in Indiana County Court today for a pre-trial conference.
The conference is for 36-year-old Laurie Bingaman of Colver, who faces one count of drug delivery resulting in death, four counts each of felony child endangerment and misdemeanor reckless endangerment and a felony count of manufacture or possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture or deliver. The charges stem from an incident on July 2nd of last year when police were asked to help EMS workers with a person experiencing a possible drug overdose at a home on Franklin Street in Clymer. Police found Daniel Carl Bingaman in the home, and despite the use of Narcan and other life-saving efforts, he died from acute intoxication from a combination of fentanyl and xylazine. Toxicology reports confirmed those drugs and norfentanyl were in his system at the time.
While investigating on-scene, troopers noticed Lauren present with several young children that were within reach of potentially lethal drug paraphernalia, and through interviews with her and tracing cell phone records, police determined she purchased stamp bags containing fentanyl and xylazine, which they believed Daniel used before his death.
She has been free on $250,000 unsecured bail since her arrest. No trial date has been set but a criminal call hearing is scheduled for June 2nd.
