The United School Board will meet tonight with a wide-ranging agenda of normal business items, including the second reading and potential adoption of a list of 23 board policies, and the first reading of revisions to six others.
The board will also consider the revision of the Phased School Reopening Health and Safety Plan.
In another action dealing with the pandemic, the school board will vote on a motion to enact an agreement with Verizon Wireless for the purchase of distance learning data plans and equipment, as a contingency plan for internet access. There will be a one-time cost of $60 per device and a $15 access fee per month for the duration of the agreement, which would be effective immediately and until the pandemic is declared over, or by mutual agreement.
Other actions up for discussion tonight include a number of personnel items, agreements with several support agencies, some facilities arrangement such as a generator maintenance contract and repairs to the Administration Office HVAC system, and a three-year Dual Enrollment agreement with Westmoreland County Community College.
