The Co-Chairs on the IUP President’s Commission on Diversity and Inclusion are still seeking feedback on the draft Diversity Action Plan.
In a statement from Yaw Asamoah and Kate Linder, the two said that they have talked with many groups about the draft version of the plan, and they plan on holding an open forum for both the IUP and Indiana Communities in the near future. In the meantime, they invite everyone to take a look at the proposed plan. You can do so by logging on to https://www.iup.edu/diversity-inclusion/action-plan/
They are also accepting comment from interested individuals by emailing diversity-inclusion@iup.edu. Comments will be accepted until February 28th.
The group is looking forward to meeting with other university groups this month.
The president’s commission on Diversity and Inclusion was founded in October of 2016, and the commission was charged with examining IUP’s diversity and inclusion practices and their impact, recommending a vision to demonstrate a commitment to embodying diversity and inclusion, and to create the Diversity Action Plan.
