The number of coronavirus cases in Indiana County took a jump on Friday.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported that Indiana County now has 843 cases of Covid-19 reported, which was an increase of 24 from Thursday. 720 of those cases are confirmed, while the rest are presumed positive cases. The number of deaths did go up by one to a total of 14 deaths due to Covid-19 in the county since mid-March.
The county has also recorded 9,737 negative tests for Covid-19, which is an increase of 91 tests since Thursday.
IUP also updated their Covid-19 Dashboard, saying that for the period of October 6th to the 8th, 13 new student cases of Covid-19 were reported, with all 13 cases in Indiana County, and 12 of those cases are in students living off-campus, while one is an on-campus resident. The university also reports 24 of their students are self-isolating on campus, with 17 confirmed cases using the self-isolation beds on campus, and seven others are presumed positive or awaiting test results.
