Yankees great Whitey Ford is dead.
The team said the left-handed pitcher died at his Long Island home Thursday night at age 91. Ford pitched for the team in the 1950s and 60s, leading them to six World Series titles and 11 pennants. He finished with a career winning percentage of 69 percent. He was the second oldest surviving Hall of Fame member, trailing only 93-year-old Tommy Lasorda.
Ford won 236 games and had a career ERA of 2.75.
