Absentees from yesterday’s Steelers’ practice included injured fullback Derek Watt and safety Marcus Allen. They appear to be likely to miss Sunday’s game against the Eagles. Absent but expected to return today were Ben Roethlisberger, Maurkice Pouncey, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Diontae Johnson from the offense, and Stephon Tuitt and Joe Haden from the defense.
Haden was ill but not on the coronavirus list. Smith-Schuster and Johnson are tending to minor injuries, and Big Ben, Pouncey, and Tuitt had veterans’ off days.
Two more Tennessee Titans have tested positive for COVID-19, making it 22 cases in the organization, and an NFL investigation found several specific incidents of the team breaking pandemic protocols. Their game on Sunday against Buffalo is in jeopardy and the possibility has been raised that they may have to forfeit games if they engaged in misconduct.
The Patriots have canceled practice after star cornerback Stephon Gilmore tested positive. New England’s game against the Broncos is still on the schedule for Sunday, for now.
