It will not be long before the construction season ends, and several big projects are close to concluding in Indiana County.
PennDOT announced yesterday that Indiana Street in Plumville has reopened after a $1.3 million bridge replacement project near the fire hall.
The Route 119 bypass repaving project and the replacement of the bridge carrying Route 286 over the bypass should soon be finished in White Township after having begun in May. The $4.42 million bridge project was originally projected to be completed in September. The $3.26 million repaving project covered the 286 exit outside of Indiana to the Route 110 Creekside exit.
An indication that the projects will soon conclude is an increase in activity on Old Route 119 north of Indiana, where a new sign this week indicates that a bridge will soon close to traffic as yet another project gets underway. Motorists have had to use that road to get around the bypass project.
