Indiana Borough Council will meet tonight for its agenda prep meeting, and on the agenda will be discussion on the transfer of a liquor license from outside the borough.
The license is expected to come from West Wheatfield Township, according to the proposed agenda for tonight’s meeting. The license was acquired by CAPL Retail LLC for the convenience store at 400 Philadelphia Street. For the liquor license to be transferred into the borough, borough council must give its permission. The liquor license transfer will not be up for a vote tonight, but it will come up for a vote at the council’s meeting on October 20th.
Prior to the Agenda Prep session, there will be a Community Development Block Grant hearing held. The purpose of the hearing will be to discuss the CDBG project selection and three-year-plan for Indiana County “on behalf of” Indiana Borough. In total, $197,249 in CDBG grants will be allocated. The hearing will also discuss why certain activities were selected and why others were not. In the Agenda Prep meeting, borough council will look to approve a resolution to approve CDBG funding for the Phase II/South 15th Street Storm Sewer System improvement project, which will use multiple CDBG allocations. The funds will also be utilized for a planning activity and administrative costs.
The CDBG hearing will start at 6:30 and the regular Borough Council Agenda Prep session will start at 7:00.
