The State System of Higher Education Chancellor Dan Greenstein fielded questions on a wide variety of topics during his virtual visit to the IUP campus on Friday.
One question was how PASSHE was tackling the student population challenges, especially with declining student population. Greenstein said that students seeing higher tuition costs is one of the reasons, and that is because of state funding being cut.
Another topic was how will the integration of three of the universities in the state system will affect IUP. Greenstein said he did not know what the effect would be, but he said he wants to see greater differentiation in the programs offered by each university.
While this year may have been the first virtual visit to campus, Greenstein has made it a point to tour the campuses at least once a year to hear from the individual campus communities.
