The Steelers are 3-0 against teams that have compiled a combined record of 0-9, but things will get much tougher this week for coach Mike Tomlin’s crew. They will meet 3-0 Tennessee in Nashville.
One of the keys to beating the Titans will be stopping star running back Derrick Henry, whose size and speed can overwhelm a defense. Henry ran for 119 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries against Minnesota on Sunday.
Linebacker Vince Williams said yesterday during a news conference that you have to get Henry down before he has a chance to get to full speed.
Guard David DeCastro returned to the lineup on Sunday and was at full speed, frequently pulling out to lead James Conner on the sweep. The Steelers ran for 169 yards in the game. The Titans allowed Minnesota to rush for 220 yards in their game on Sunday. DeCastro says the offense is held to a high standard, and it keys off of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
