Indiana Borough police have filed charges in a couple of drug cases. Police say 21-year-old Christopher Winfield of Zelienople and 21-year-old Jason Cirocco of Finleyville both had large amounts of marijuana on them on South 10th Street on March 23rd of last year. Winfield had about five pounds of pot, and Cirocco had about two pounds. Arrest warrants were obtained on Friday and the two were taken into custody and arraigned before District Judge Guy Haberl. The charge against both include possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Charges have been filed against a Pike County man for selling marijuana to officers with the Indiana County Drug Task Force in November and December of 2016. Indiana borough police have charged 22-year-old Andre Reis of Bushkill with possession with intent to deliver, delivery of a controlled substance, and possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Indiana Borough police report a case of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Sunday morning at 1:40, police responded to the Coney Island Bar on Philadelphia Street for a report of a fight. Upon arrival, police identified a man named David Mosley, who was visibly intoxicated and continued to act disorderly while being questioned. It was determined that Mosley had damaged the front door to the bar, and he was placed under arrest. Mosley is charged with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, and criminal mischief.
Icy roads have caused a lot of traffic accidents in the last week, and state police have issued reports on a bunch of them that occurred on Friday.
A Shelocta woman was taken to the Indiana Regional Medical Center on Friday morning after her vehicle overturned on Route 422 East in White Township. Police say 54-year-old Lori Drylie lost control on the snow and ice, causing the vehicle to strike an embankment and overturn onto its roof.
Fifteen minutes later, a pickup driven by 39-year-old William Thall Jr. of Ford City slid out on the same icy highway in White Township, striking a ditch in the center of the median, crossing the road, and coming to rest on a hillside. Thall was not injured.
No one was injured Friday afternoon in a collision involving a snow plow on Old William Penn Highway in Blairsville. Police say the right-side wing plow on the truck struck a pickup truck that was parked in a parking spot alongside the highway. David McDivitt of Saltsburg was in the pickup and was not hurt. The plow was driven by Brandon Shirley of Blairsville.
Also on Friday afternoon, 33-year-old Christopher Carns of New Florence escaped injury when his pickup slid off snow-covered Old Mission Road in Brush Valley, hitting a tree.
No one was injured in a rear-end collision on Route 22, outside of Armagh in East Wheatfield on Friday afternoon. Police say Michael Tatarko of Twin Rocks slowed down for traffic in front of him and was hit from behind by a car driven by Ethan Metzler of Pequea, PA.
18-year-old Anthony Smyth of Blairsville was uninjured Friday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Old Indiana Road in Burrell Township. Police say Smyth’s car slid off the icy roadway into an embankment and overturned.
