A fundraiser that has been postponed several times will finally get a chance to go on this weekend.
Sunday, February 4th is the annual Polar Bear Plunge in Blairsville. It was supposed to take place on New Year’s Day, but safety concerns with the weather forced its postponement for about a week, and then safety concerns with the water levels put it on an indefinite postponement. Organizers have been keeping a close eye on the situation, and this weekend has been deemed optimal for all conditions.
The Blairsville Polar Bear Plunge will be Sunday at 1:00 at the boat launch in Blairsville. Josh Widdowson of Your Hometown Radio Stations will be there to take the plunge himself thanks to all the generous pledges collected. You can still pledge by calling 724-465-4700 and leaving a message.
