UPDATE: Those who made the trek this morning to Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney were disappointed as they heard that there would be another six weeks of winter weather.

Six more weeks of Winter to go!
This marks the 104th time that Punxsutawney Phil has seen his shadow on Groundhog Day, predicting six more weeks of winter. That’s been the majority of his predictions over the 132 celebrations at Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney.
Phil’s prediction was preceded by music from several bands, and a fireworks show before dawn.
WHAT WE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED
Thousands of people have already made their way to Punxsutawney and to the Groundhog Day Celebrations at Gobbler’s Knob.
This year marks the 132nd celebration put on by the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club Inner Circle, and as legend goes, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow today, there will be six more weeks of winter, but if he does not see his shadow, spring will come early.
Over the years, Phil has seen his shadow 103 times, did not see his shadow 18 times and there are 10 years where no record exists. It promises to be a cold morning for those hearty enough to trek to Punxsutawney for the outdoor event, with temperatures around 12 degrees and windchills of -4.
Phil’s prediction, per tradition, is right after dawn.
