A former general manager of a car dealership that closed in 2019 now faces multiple charges related to fraud investigations conducted by the State Police Vehicle Fraud Investigation Unit.
State Police say in a news release that 48-year-old Kevin T. Albright of Indiana, the former general manager of Indiana Auto Mart on Oakland Avenue was arraigned on Friday on eight felony counts, including six counts of forgery, one count of theft by failure to make required disposition of funds and one count of theft by deception. He also faces 23 misdemeanor counts, including two counts of theft by deception, six counts each of tampering with records, unsworn falsification to authorities, and nine counts of bad checks, along with 215 summary offenses.
The investigation started in May of 2019 after the Vehicle Fraud Investigation unit received several complaints about vehicles purchased at Indiana Auto Mart, formerly located at 1973 Oakland Avenue in White Township, which had closed on May 16th. Albright met with investigators several times during the 15 month investigation and determined that between December 5th of 2018 to May 15th of 2019, he failed to send money and titles to PennDOT, wrote PennDOT bad checks, failed to pay money to a business associate, forged multiple customer names on PennDOT vehicle document affidavits, and failed to send vehicle warranty money, among other crimes.
He is currently free on $1000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is set for September 29th at 9:00 AM.
