The Pennsylvania Department of Education has published the average composite SAT test scores for public high schools statewide.
Each test has a reading, math and writing portion with scores ranging from 200 through 800. Essays are scored separately and range from a score of 2 to 8. Total scores could range from 400 to 1600. There is no passing grade for the SAT, however, many colleges and universities use SAT scores as a factor in determining whether they will admit a student.
So how did Indiana County schools Fare in relationship to their peers?
Topping the list of Indiana County schools is Indiana Senior High School with a mean score of 1,125, followed closely by Saltsburg with a score of 1,109.
Rounding out the Top 5 are United at 1,099, Purchase Line 1,089, and Marion Center with a score of 1,076.
The bottom three scores were Penns Manor, sixth among county schools, then Blairsville, followed by Homer-Center.
