The IUP baseball team will fend off elimination after suffering a 10-0 shutout loss to West Chester this afternoon in the PSAC playoffs.
West Chester led by one after four but posted seven runs in the fifth inning, thanks in part to a grand slam by Corey Stouffer, one in the seventh and the final run in the eighth to end the game early. Mark Edeburn suffered the loss for IUP after allowing seven runs over four-and-one-thirds innings. IUP also mustered just three hits on offense, one being a double by Andrew Sicinski.
IUP will face Cal U in an elimination game tonight at 7 p.m. at Slippery Rock.
