State police have issued a report on one of the two accidents that snarled traffic on Route 422 in Armstrong Township yesterday.
The report deals with the second of two crashes that happened almost simultaneously, just before 8 AM. Police say 54-year-old Sally Smith of Indiana had slowed down due to the first crash, about 200 yards in front of her, when her vehicle was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Laramie Mealy of Shelocta, who was temporarily blinded by sunlight and didn’t see Smith’s SUV.
Both drivers were taken to the Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment of suspected minor injuries.
Police have not yet issued a release on the first accident.
