It took years to get the G.C. Murphy Company building in Blairsville knocked down and now the town is ready to move forward and use the site.
The Blairsville Community Development Authority, working with the Indiana County office of Planning & Development, will host a virtual meeting on September 30th at 6 PM for community members to offer their suggestions.
Called the “Murphy Lot Visioning” meeting, the event will be held via Zoom. The news release says all voices are welcome.
A news release says the event an “an engagement process that will use community input to design a plan for the Murphy lot”. Because of stipulations from the grant that funded the demolition of the decaying building, the site must sit vacant for seven years before it can be developed. Participants in the visioning meeting will have the opportunity to share their ideas about how the lot should look and how it can be used during this period of vacancy.
