A Creekside woman is charged with shoplifting from the Walmart in Burrell Township. State police say the theft happened Monday at 8:22 in the morning. 35-year-old Stefanie Shaner was seen placing items into a bookbag at the store then checked out without scanning the items that were in the backpack. When loss prevention personnel confronted her, she fled, and dumped all the stolen items on the ground outside her vehicle. She was later picked up at her home by police. She stole cat treats, yogurt, cat food, toilet cleaner and filters. She is facing charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property.
More details were released about a vehicle crash last week in Black Lick Township. The crash happened on Campbell’s Mill Road west of Woodland Drive. The driver, identified as 41-year-old Jamie Maudie of Blairsville, was going East when she travelled across the double-yellow line into the westbound lane, went off the road and hit a telephone pole. The car rolled over once before coming to rest. Maudie refused medical treatment at the time. She now faces several summary traffic charges.
