INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Two 19-year-olds are facing assault charges after an incident on April 23rd in Indiana Borough. Borough police say that officers were dispatched at 7:03 PM for the reported fight in the 600 block of Grant Street. Police discovered that Robert Wetzel of Marion Center and Alexander Rainey of Indiana were involved in a fight with each other and both suffered injuries. Charges were filed through district judge Guy Haberl’s office.
A 33-year-old man is facing trespassing charges for an incident at the Kovalchick Scrap Yard. Indiana Borough Police were called out at 4:44 AM on Saturday, May 6th for a report of trespassers in the scrap yard. Officers found 33-year-old Shawn McCarthy in the nearby woods. He got in the yard through a hole in the fence and tried to steal some scrap metal. He was charged with theft, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass, and was taken to Indiana County Jail to await arraignment in front of District Judge Guy Haberl.
