Tonight, one Indiana County student and a teacher will be honored as part of the inaugural celebration of the Indiana County Excellence in Education awards.
The initiative co-sponsored by the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce and Colonial Motor Mart has highlighted various teachers and students from across Indiana County through the school year. Senior students have been nominated by their districts, and the nominees were then reviewed by an independent panel to choose an individual to be the Student of the Year. That student will receive a new car from Colonial Motor Mart tonight.
In addition, teachers have also been nominated as their district’s Teacher of the Year, and another panel reviews those teachers to select one to be named the county Teacher of the Year and receive a new car as well.
Tonight’s ceremonies will be held at the KCAC starting at 5:00 PM.
