A lot of people doubted we would ever reach opening night of the high school football season, but it’s here. Four games highlight the Renda Broadcasting schedule tonight.
In the WPIAL, Indiana High coach Brandon Overdorff and his team will tackle the high-powered offense of the Armstrong Riverhawks, on WDAD, AM 1450 and FM 100.3. Overdorff says Armstrong has a lot of weapons.
In the Heritage Conference, Homer-Center travels to United in the 75th renewal of their rivalry. You’ll hear it on WCCS, FM 101.1, and AM 1160.
Wildcats Coach Greg Page says it is great to be back on the football field.
Page says the number-one task for his defense will be stopping Lions’ running back Hunter Cameron.
United coach Kevin Marabito says he knows the Wildcats will be ready to play tonight.
On 92.5 FM, U92, Marion Center plays host to Saltsburg.
Trojans coach Mike Leasure is aware that the Stingers play well on both sides of the ball.
Stingers coach Adam Rising says you always have to be alert for something unexpected when you play the Trojans.
On Cat Country, 106.3 FM, the Blairsville Bobcats will welcome Penns Manor.
Comets coach Bill Packer may be opening up the air game with sophomore quarterback Max Hill and pass-catchers Mason Engle and Austin Hill.
Penns Manor won a tight one, 16-14 over Blairsville last year. Bobcats coach Rick Artley says his QB, Zak Artley and his teammates want to reverse that result tonight.
The other games in the Heritage Conference tonight will be Purchase Line at West Shamokin and Northern Cambria playing host to Bishop Carroll.
