The Pirates will play the White Sox again tonight (6:40 airtime on WCCS). JT Brubaker will take a 3.96 ERA into the game, coming off his first-career win last week against the Cubs. He’ll face off against Dane Dunning, another rookie, who has a 3.86 ERA. The Bucs will wear the number 21 today to commemorate and honor Roberto Clemente Day.
The Pirates’ 2019 top draft choice, pitcher Quinn Priester, has joined the Altoona alternative training site to work out with his fellow Bucco prospects. He’d been working out on his own until after the trade deadline. The Athletic’s Rob Biertempfel says Priester threw three innings in a simulated game on Sunday, striking out six, giving up no runs and one hit, with a fastball ranging from 96 to 98 miles per hour.
