The Pennsylvania State Police say that four adults and one juvenile were arrested and face various charges following a traffic stop and foot pursuit Saturday afternoon in East Wheatfield Township.
At approximately 5:02 PM, a member of the Indiana Patrol Unit stopped a silver Chevrolet sedan along State Route 56 at State Route 711 after observing the vehicle fail to stop for a posted stop sign while it was traveling east on 56 through Armagh Borough.
According the report, upon approaching the driver’s side window of the vehicle, the trooper immediately detected the odor of raw marijuana coming from within the vehicle. The trooper then instructed the adult female operator, a 26-year-old female, of Johnstown, PA, to stand outside his patrol unit while he checked for warrants and prepared a written warning notice.
The trooper spoke with the Johnstown woman, then approached the vehicle and identified the four passengers still in the vehicle while he awaited the arrival of another trooper who had been dispatched to assist. When that trooper arrived, the four passengers were instructed to get out of the vehicle.
Upon exiting the vehicle, defendant Treazure Lumair Toney, 20, of Pittsburgh, PA, who had been seated in the rear passenger-side seat, threw a cup containing an unknown liquid into the face of the primary investigating trooper and fled on foot. Initially, both troopers gave chase, but the assisting trooper quickly returned to the traffic stop location. Treazure Toney was caught after a foot chase of approximately a half mile.
Upon returning to the scene, the primary investigating trooper reviewed footage from the assisting trooper’s patrol unit’s mobile video/audio recording equipment (MVR) and found that a second passenger, Izaih Lamont Toney, 22, of Johnstown, PA, who had been seated in the rear driver’s side seat, removed two handguns, namely a loaded Glock 30 with an extended magazine and a loaded Walther PK 380, from his person and put them in the weeds on the roadside after troopers gave chase to Treazure Toney. Izaih Toney was arrested and was then found to be in possession of 21 individually-wrapped baggies of suspected crack cocaine, one baggie containing eight rocks of suspected crack cocaine, and one baggie containing marijuana.
According to the report, a third passenger, Jasmine Ann Dorsey, 21, of Johnstown, PA, who had been seated in the front passenger seat, was found to have a large lump on her right hip that she was continually adjusting. Dorsey was searched and four baggies containing a total of 355 Ecstasy tablets was found.
Additionally, a 16-year-old male juvenile of Johnstown, PA, who had been seated in the rear middle seat, was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Treazure Toney was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and harassment and upon arraignment was remanded to Indiana County Jail in lieu of $20,000 monetary bail. Izaih Toney was charged with possession with intent to deliver, two counts of firearms not to be carried without a license, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a small amount of marijuana and upon arraignment was remanded to Indiana County Jail in lieu of $30,000 monetary bail. Dorsey was charged with possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance and upon arraignment was remanded to Indiana County Jail in lieu of $10,000 monetary bail.
Preliminary hearings for the adult defendants are scheduled for September 16 at 1:45 PM.
The juvenile was charged via written allegation with possession of a small amount of marijuana filed with the Indiana County Juvenile Probation Department.
