The White Township Supervisors approved making an offer for consulting services concerning their Green Light Go project.
The project site will be the intersection of Ben Franklin Road, Warren Road and Indian Springs Road, and Township Manager Milt Lady said it will add a left turn arrow to go onto South Warren Road, but there’s more than just putting in a new lane and signal light. The weight of the additional lamp for the traffic light could require different poles as it could be too heavy for the current light pole system at that intersection.
The Supervisors approved a motion to allow Lady to work with Traffic Planning and Design on contract negotiations as they presented the best proposal. Because the state grants that are funding 80% of the project are on a time limit, Lady was authorized to negotiate and approve a deal on the township’s behalf.
The Supervisors also approved an assessment study to be done for S&T Bank Arena at a cost of $14,900. CJL will conduct that study. The supervisors also gave final approval to a new ordinance concerning driveways. That ordinance will require any new construction and significant upgrade projects that have a driveway to get a permit for the driveway, and does not apply to existing driveways. Supervisors also approved a change to their sidewalk ordinance that says property owners must clear sidewalks on all roads, not just Township Roads.
