A Blairsville woman was arrested by State Police in Cambria County for a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
State Police from the Ebensburg barracks say that on August 23rd, they were called out to check on the welfare of 34-year-old Jill Benz of Blairsville, who was said to be suffering from a severe case of post-partum psychosis and driving erratically on Route 22 east with her two-year-old in the car.
Police eventually caught up with her on Carrol Road in East Carrol Township. Police tried to pull her over, but she led police on a brief pursuit, committing several traffic violations in the process. The pursuit ended when she crashed into a Corvette belonging to 53-year-old Michael Greco of North Versailles.
Benz was taken to UPMC in Altoona for a mental health evaluation. Police say they are looking to file appropriate charges.
