Homer City fire crews and state police were called out this morning for a report of a vehicle in a creek in Center Township.

The accident was reported by Indiana County 911 at 7:46 AM along Hilltop Road. Homer City Assistant Fire Chief Joe Izzei, Jr. said that two vehicles collided at the intersection of Hilltop and Bethel Church Road, with one of them, a black Jeep, landing wheels down in the creek near the intersection. The other vehicle, a four-door sedan, remained on the road in the middle of the intersection.
Minor injuries were reported, and the victims were treated on-scene by Citizens’ Ambulance. Izzei said that it was good that the Jeep landed the way it did.
The jeep landed had minor physical damage. The other vehicle had moderate front end damage. Both vehicles needed towing. The intersection was closed for about 90 minutes as crews investigated the crash and cleared the scene.
