Police say that a handcuffed prisoner escaped custody over the weekend as Seward Police were taking him to the Westmoreland County Prison.
Reports say that on Saturday afternoon, Seward police were escorting an unidentified prisoner when he said he started to feel ill and asked them to pull over so he could vomit. Police allowed him to get out, but he fled the scene. Police called search crews out to search for the man, but the search was called off around 2:30 that day.
The fugitive is described by police as a white man who was last seen wearing a blue shirt and tan shorts. Police also said that he was picked up on a warrant, but other details were not available.
Authorities say that if you see the man, call 911 immediately.
