His Penguins teammates have named center Evgeni Malkin their MVP for the 2019-2020 season. In 55 regular season games, he had 25 goals and 49 assists to finish 14th in scoring in the NHL. It’s the fifth time Malkin has received the recognition, trailing only Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby.
The Penguins have agreed to a one-year, $750,000 extension with defenseman Chad Ruhwedel for one year. The 30-year-old is entering the final year of a two-year deal so the extension covers the 2021-22 season.
