The Pittsburgh Penguins re-acquired winger and former first-round draft choice Kasperi Kapanen from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.
The Maple Leafs sent Kapanen back to Pittsburgh, along with defensive prospect Jesper Lindgren and veteran forward Pontus Aberg, for the Penguins’ first-round pick and the cap savings of $3.2 million the next two seasons.
Kapanen, 24, was the Pens’ No. 1 pick in 2014. He scored 97 points in 227 regular season and playoff games as a Leaf.
