A bridge replacement project is expected to start soon for the Cherry Run Road Bridge in Burrell Township, Armstrong County.
Construction is slated to begin later this year, and the detour route in the project area has been updated. Drivers will be asked to follow the new route, which will take them along Garretts Run Road, and Shay/Pyra road. The exact date of the start of construction is not known at this time, but notice will be sent out two weeks prior to the start of the project. The bridge replacement is one of 558 bridges being replaced as part of the Rapid Bridge Replacement project. The project is a public-private partnership between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners. Under the plan, Pleanary Walsh will fund, design, replace and maintain the bridges for 25 years.
