While certain topics have taken precedence over the past few months, one topic that has slipped under the radar is the 2020 census.
As of August 20, 67.1 percent of households across the state have responded self-responded online, by phone or by mail and 10.8 percent of households have been counted by visiting enumerators, bringing a total percentage of 77.9 percent of households accounted for in Pennsylvania.
Indiana County saw a 0.3 percent increase in responses from August 13 to August 20, bringing the total county self-response rate to 64 percent. Shelocta Boro saw the biggest increase from the thirteenth to the twentieth with a 6.0 percent increase.
The data collection operation period for the census ends September 30, so now is the time to encourage family, friends and everyone you know to be accounted for in order to determine funds for services within the area.
